The title says it all, and it's true. It's time, and it feels right. After 14 seasons, we have decided it's time to wrap up the Craft Show and Christmas Market chapter in our lives and really start to enjoy the holidays. Our kids are getting older and through the years we have loved doing these shows, but the only downside it that it has also meant being away from our kids for a few weeks and for a very fast paced December served with a side of exhaustion for us all.

Since we started Mally Designs in 2005, we literally have not thrown out any quantity of useable leather. We are the non wasting types, and you could imagine what 13 years of scrap leather accumulation looks like. The amount of remnant leather we have neatly stored away has always been somewhat daunting, and in fact, it is a big reason we added moccasins to our collection as well as our accessories in past years. When we moved from our warehouse to our new home studio 5 years ago, we brought a truck load of that scrap home with us.

It's Spring!!! I'm so excited. I mean, I love winter and all, but enough already! Bring on Spring! We are heading to Toronto bright and early tomorrow morning for the One of a Kind Show. The kids are on Spring break, so the whole family is going, which will be great. We are staying at a wonderful Airbnb by the lake with a pool, walking distance to the show and our little post-show hangout Liberty Village.

Over the years we have been both complemented and criticized for designing a wide selection of 'boyish' designs. Having a boy first, I know how shopping for a baby boy can leave Mama's of boys scratching their heads wondering why there's so much more for all the little girls. For that reason, I have always been really careful to design an equal selection of boyish and girly designs, with a generous mix of neutrals. It's the last day of summer as I type this and while I look out our studio windows at the gorgeous sun shining down on the still green fully leafed trees while Sadie (our office dog) is basking in her sun filled spot by the window, I'm really going to miss it. BUT, I am also starting to get excited about Fall. As soon as we have one of those crisp fall days where you can just smell it in the air, I am going to treat myself to a pumpkin spice latte, a new pair of fall boots and maybe a new sweater to celebrate. I LOVE summer, but I also LOVE Fall. It's time to embrace the season!
